Favorite YA Literary Characters for a Road Trip

January 23, 2014 by Diana 1 Comment

I recently liked the Penguin Teen Facebook page and one of the things that I like about this page is that they post interesting questions.  Last week they asked the following:  If you could go on a road trip with any literary character, who would it be?  I really liked that question and I thought of the endless possibilities of characters that I would love to spend time with on a road trip.  I decided it would be easier to narrow down the list by thinking about YA characters only.  Only it still wasn’t easy, there are so many incredible choices.  After thinking about it a lot, here are a few YA characters that I would want to go on a road trip with:

Roadtrip Characters
Will and Jem from The Infernal Devices – Will is funny and well-read.  We could talk about books and he’d be great in the event of a crisis.  Not to mention that he is so good looking.  Jem is so sweet and kind and he plays the violin.  I know he would listen to me and be genuinely caring.

Mia and Adam from “If I Stay” – They are two of the coolest people in YA.  I would enjoy just learning about music.

Harry, Ron and Hermione – I would love to watch them use their wands and maybe I could get them to take me to Hogwarts and give me a tour.

Levi and Cath from “Fangirl”– Levi is so sweet, I know I would enjoy his company and I would love to talk to Cath about the stories she’s writing.

Anna and Etienne from “Anna and the French Kiss” – It would be so much fun to talk about movies with Anna and Etienne would just be cool to look at and listen to his British accent.  Okay, he would be fun to hang out with too.

Cricket from “Lola and the Boy Next Door” – I would just love to spend time with someone who is so smart, funny, sweet, and romantic.  Cricket is amazing and someone that would be great to get to know.  As much as I love Lola, I would want to spend time with Cricket alone.

Augustus and Hazel Grace from “The Fault in our Stars” – They are two amazing teens and I would just love to spend time with them and witness their courageous spirit up close.

Peeta and Katniss from “The Hunger Games” – What’s not to love about Peeta?  He’s so sweet and adorable.  I know he would be a great travel companion.  Katniss would be our protection from any trouble.  I wouldn’t be worried with her in my car.

Tobias from “Divergent” – He’s so awesome.  I would want to learn more about how to conquer my fears from an expert like him.  The biggest bonus is that he’d be eye candy for road.

Dumbledore and Gandalf – I would want to go on a road trip with them and finally answer the age old question, “Who would win in a battle?”

So who would you pick for your road trip?

Oh my gosh, Dumbledore and Gandalf! That would be one amazing trip!!!
I would love to go on a trip with the golden trio. That would be so much fun and you know you’d be in fantastic company! Ron making everyone laugh and Hermione keeping everyone on task.
I’d go anywhere with Mia and Adam. Siiiigh.
