Waiting On Wednesday: I Was Here by Gayle Forman

October 8, 2014 by Diana 1 Comment

It’s no secret that Sandie and I love Gayle Forman; we are truly two of her biggest fans. Sandie has had the pleasure of interviewing Forman on more than one occasion, and she was always so gracious. When my daughter and I briefly chatted with her at her book signing at YALLFest, she was so kind to my daughter, who is an aspiring writer. So when we found out that she has another book coming out in 2015, we were beyond excited. I love everything of hers that I’ve read so far, and I would honestly read anything that she writes. In fact, I’ve already pre-ordered my copy, so I am truly eagerly “Waiting on Wednesday” for her latest title.

“I Was Here ” by Gayle Forman

Expected Pub Date: January 27, 2015 | Pages: 288 | Publisher: Viking Juvenile

I Was Here

Cody and Meg were inseparable.
Two peas in a pod.
Until . . . they weren’t anymore.

When her best friend Meg drinks a bottle of industrial-strength cleaner alone in a motel room, Cody is understandably shocked and devastated. She and Meg shared everything—so how was there no warning? But when Cody travels to Meg’s college town to pack up the belongings left behind, she discovers that there’s a lot that Meg never told her. About her old roommates, the sort of people Cody never would have met in her dead-end small town in Washington. About Ben McAllister, the boy with a guitar and a sneer, who broke Meg’s heart. And about an encrypted computer file that Cody can’t open—until she does, and suddenly everything Cody thought she knew about her best friend’s death gets thrown into question.

I Was Here is Gayle Forman at her finest, a taut, emotional, and ultimately redemptive story about redefining the meaning of family and finding a way to move forward even in the face of unspeakable loss.

Are you as excited as we are about Forman’s soon to be released book? Let us know what you think, and if you are, pre-order the book too.
