This week we’re highlighting authors who are new to us — you know, the ones with an impressive body of work and a ton of fans but somehow we’ve only read one or two of their titles. There are so many amazing YA authors that it’s hard to keep up with everyone, especially if they aren’t writing a series, so it’s easy for us to just say “We’ll get to them eventually.” Some authors are very well established but for whatever reason, we haven’t had a chance to read many of their books. For most of the authors below, we’ve only read one or two of their books (and that’s between the two of us). We hope to change that in 2015.
What authors do you NEED to get around to reading in 2015?

“What happens if your choice is misguided,
You must try to correct it
But what if it’s too late? What if you can’t?
Then you must find a way to live with it.”
David Levithan
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: We all want everything to be okay. We don’t even wish so much for fantastic or marvelous or outstanding. We will happily settle for okay, because most of the time, okay is enough.”
Holly Black
“We are, largely, who we remember ourselves to be. That’s why habits are so hard to break. If we know ourselves to be liars, we expect not to tell the truth. If we think of ourselves as honest, we try harder.”
Sarah Dessen
“No relationship is perfect, ever. There are always some ways you have to bend, to compromise, to give something up in order to gain something greater…The love we have for each other is bigger than these small differences. And that’s the key. It’s like a big pie chart, and the love in a relationship has to be the biggest piece. Love can make up for a lot.
Laurie Halse Anderson
“There is no magic cure, no making it all go away forever. There are only small steps upward; an easier day, an unexpected laugh, a mirror that doesn’t matter anymore.”
Ally Carter
“…nothing ever happens quickly (except when it does). Nothing is ever, ever easy (except when it is). And, most of all, nothing ever goes perfectly according to plan (except in the movies).”
I just love Anderson and Levithan. Glad you got acquainted with them this year. Nice quotes too!
