Happy Fourth of July, TLR readers! Remember this viral image from Epic Reads? I love it and am sharing it today, because reading is a way of traveling, whether it’s across our country, the world, or the universe. There is plenty that’s pretty scary and awful right now, but I firmly believe that reading makes us all more empathetic, and empathy is something that’s currently in short supply.
So let’s read — and encourage teens to read! — YA books about characters in states near and far. Which of the below is a personal favorite, and what are some other great examples of books that authentically feature the states in which they’re set.
